as far as the medal count goes.. if u count every medal awarded.. USA walks away with almost double the golds and total medals awarded..

Are you nuts? It's not counted by the awarded to each player when there's a team wining a medal, is just gold medals, either for individuals or teams. To beging with, you are getting your info from a biased source... Every fucking chronicle or paper that is from USA is gonna do whatever they can to make USA look the best. Why? Cuz that distracts dumb people from real problems. "Oh look, there's another of our soldiers dying in Iraq, but at least we got tons and tons of medals from those chinese guys! We are awesome!"

1) If you are referring to USA as America, you are wrong, China had more Gold's. And if you actually ponderate the amount of gold, silver and bronze medals (let's say values of 3,2 and 1 accordingly), score would be:
223 for China
220 for USA
139 for Russia
Saying that someone won assuming that a gold medals equals the same as a silver and a bronze is ridiculous.
2) America, as a Continent didn't got the most medals either. USA's 36 + Jamaica's 6 + Brazil's 3 + Cuba's 2 + Argentina's 2 + Panama's 1 = 50 = Less Than China.

ive spent more time protesting the war by years than i have watching these 2 weeks of the Olympics..
the fact that i can feel anger and despair over the loss of life in iraq (American and Iraqi) and still feel pride and admiration for the Olympic athletes of the USA (shit i was happy for all the athletes that got a chance to compete ALL COUNTRIES) doesnt show pettiness or childishness as far as im concerned..
