    Gas went from around $3.59 - $3.79 to $4.50 - $5.00

It's funny, lower parts under where i live are being flooded because the levees are breaking and yesterday our roads were flooding because of man-made wholes in the road were spewing with water. That shows you what a chain-reaction is.

Tree inbetween mine and my neighbors house went down, leaning on her house atm. No power, no water, trees and shingles and trash littering the streets.

This is fucking pathetic. Louisiana gets hit by bands from IKE and south is all flooding because levee's breaking. I'll see if i can get a news video and show yall. Example: How New Orleans East looked after katrina when the levees broke. (flooded until roof tops) We only got hit by bands not the WHOLE THING LOL.

Maybe we should build a bigger seawall, like the one in Galveston, extend it to cover the gulf D:

btw vandy, if you ever need a place to stay, you can come to my place and sleep on the couch xD

We've all seen the massive destruction caused by Ike.

I ran across this article today, and thought I'd share it with everyone.

It's a picture of a house left standing after the hurricane; what makes it special is that it was the only house left standing for miles.

Apparently the owner had it specially constructed after Hurricane Rita to withstand Cat 5 hurricanes and it cost up to 2.5x a normal house.

This house > Ike > All other houses

    And no, it's not photoshopped.

I'm not saying its photoshoped or edited in any way, but the way the house is still there doesn't look right for some reason. I think all the destruction around it is doing that, making it seem out of place or something

Only if you have flood insurance, which is not typically part of the standard homewoner's insurance policy and therefore costs an additional premium.
